- Direct crew in setting poles, anchors, and pad‑mount transformers.
- Guide installation of transformers, lightning arrestors, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches, and switchgear.
- Supervise troubleshooting of primary and secondary systems and replacement of cutout fuses.
- Work with energized high‑voltage systems and perform underground manhole and trench tasks.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and health rules; stop work when unsafe conditions are identified.
- Report all injuries, incidents, and near‑misses to the foreperson immediately.
- Verify tools, equipment, and vehicles are in safe working order and conduct daily testing/inspection.
- Load and use appropriate equipment and materials for each job; maintain accurate job prints.
- Lead crew members in the foreperson’s absence and complete new construction, maintenance, or repair of energized and de‑energized underground work.
- Travel out of state for emergency storm work as needed.

- Perform required physical tasks, including lifting 50 lb regularly and working in various weather and terrain conditions.
- Read and interpret prints, Google Earth images, and job instructions; communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Wear approved fire‑retardant clothing and PPE; pass pre‑employment drug screen, background check, and hold a valid CDL.
- Operate and service required tools and equipment such as backhoes, boring machines, excavators, and trenchers.
