Generate comprehensive 3D models, 2D drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) that comply with industry standards and best practices.
Develop and maintain comprehensive engineering documentation, including design specifications, testing procedures, and manufacturing process instructions.
Lead and oversee the design and development of sheet metal components and assemblies, from concept to production, utilizing SolidWorks.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives in design processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance efficiency and quality.
Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced team environment, adapting to changing priorities and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Proven track record of successfully leading design projects and product launches from concept to production.
Knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles for cost-effective production.
Education: B.Tech/M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
Master's/ Bachaelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Product Data Management (PDM) systems (e.g., SolidWorks PDM).
Experience: Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in sheet metal design and fabrication, including a strong portfolio of successfully completed projects.
Problem-solving: Demonstrated ability to analyze complex engineering problems, devise innovative solutions, and troubleshoot design-related issues.
CAD Proficiency: Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks, particularly in the sheet metal module, including advanced features like bending, laser cutting, and weldments.
Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of sheet metal manufacturing processes (bending, welding, laser cutting, etc.), material properties, and their impact on design.
Analytical Skills: Experience with FEA and simulation tools (e.g., SolidWorks Simulation, ANSYS) for design validation and optimization.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts to diverse audiences.
