Commissioning Associate II

Description

The Commissioning Associate II works as a member of the commissioning team to confirm that building systems are designed, installed, and operated to meet the building owner’s project requirements and design intent, interacting frequently with owners, contractors, design engineers, and architects.

• Generate pre‑functional checklists.
• Generate functional performance tests.
• Perform functional performance tests.
• Observe equipment startup and prepare reports.
• Conduct site observations and update issues log.
• Attend meetings.
• Schedule and coordinate commissioning activities with multiple parties.
• Review contractor documentation.
• Provide owner training.
• Write final commissioning report.
• Perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and moving objects up to 50 lb in tight or confined spaces.
• Work in varied environmental conditions including precipitation, wind, temperature extremes, and noisy environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, or 5 years of relevant construction experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and commissioning software such as CxAlloy.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail‑oriented and able to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.
• Knowledge of industry competitors.
• Ability to multitask and perform duties outside the standard scope when needed.
• Registered Engineering Intern (EI) licensure (preferred).
• ANSI Commissioning Certification credentials (e.g., BCCB, ACG, ASHRAE) (preferred).
• Travel 10‑25 % of time to job sites or office locations.
