  • Supervise operational and business processes to ensure that American Water policies are followed, best practices are implemented, and internal/external reporting requirements are satisfied.
  • Responsible for frontline decision making to ensure efficient operations and customer satisfaction
  • Day-to-day implementation of security efforts at all wastewater production facilities.
  • Record, compile and provide operating data to track the financial performance of production operations.
  • Participate in the resolution of union and/or non-union labor issues.
  • Supervise a team of front-line staff engaged in production wastewater operations.
  • Implement a preventative maintenance program for capital assets that provides OPEX savings and defers CAPEX spending, where possible.
  • Coordinates the construction of new and/or upgraded production facilities in accordance with approved CAPEX budget.
  • Supervise daily activities to ensure that adequate quantities of treated wastewater meeting all regulatory standards are provided to customers at all times.
  • Schedule training and development activities to ensure that personnel obtain and maintain appropriate operator certifications from regulating agencies.

  • Previous experience managing teams, projects, or departments is required
  • Knowledge of the regulated water business and the regulations impacting the business is preferred
  • Two (2) years of relevant experience in wastewater utility.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in operational discipline, management, or related technical discipline preferred
  • Knowledge of wastewater processes and operational areas, including treatment plants and collection systems
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop staff
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • Wastewater experience required
  • Wastewater License preferred
  • Requires weekly local travel within the region as needed
