Road Design Engineer Senior Project Engineer

Description

• Establish and uphold client relationships
• Communicate with clients regarding updates and necessary adjustments
• Assist supervisor in development of plan sets and details, as well as project team meetings
• Manage required project documentation, reports, and minutes
• Model road designs using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, BIM, or GeoPak, InRoads, Guide Sign, and AutoTURN
• Create plans ensuring geometric calculations conform to required code and standards,
• Develop project specifications, provisions, and estimates adhering to client requirements
• Maintain Professional Engineering registrations (for licensed P.E.)
• Supervise and train technicians [and PEs (for licensed P.E.)]
• Ensure AASHTO codes, INDOT design manual requirements, and design standards are followed
• Meet deadlines and cost targets

Requirements

Janssen & Spaans Engineering (JSE) is looking for a Road Design Senior Project Engineer to join our team! This role provides engineering excellence, plans, identifies, prioritizes, tracks and monitors tasks and sequences in the process to produce the desired outcome. The ideal candidate will have over ten (10) years’ experience in Civil Engineering or related field. P.E. license in the state of Indiana is optional; preferred, not required. Roadway projects include but are not limited to: Interstates, Highways, and Freeways, Urban Streets, Intersections including Roundabouts, and Interchange Layout.

• 10+ Years’ Experience in related field (Required)
• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) (Required)
• Extraordinary attention to detail
• Substantial listening and communication skills
• Design Build and P3 knowledge
• Licensed PE in Indiana (preferred not required)
• In-depth knowledge of AASHTO and DOT standards (Required)
• Exceptional Time management skills
• Strong analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills and capability to work autonomously and in a team environment
• Skilled in MicroStation, BIM, and Microsoft Office programs; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook (Required)
• Department of Transportation project experience (Preferred)
