Day Porter - PT

Description

The Day Porter role focuses on keeping common areas of office buildings, apartment complexes, and other commercial or institutional properties clean and orderly. Responsibilities include daily cleaning, inspections, and coordination with management to address issues such as lighting, debris, and security concerns.

• Spot‑clean lobby glass doors and polish chrome fixtures.
• Vacuum elevator cabs and clean doors, walls, and tops twice daily.
• Inspect building exterior, collect trash, and maintain ashtrays and sand urns.
• Empty and clean exterior trash receptacles and interior trash bins.
• Check restrooms twice daily for cleanliness.
• Vacuum lobby daily and dust‑mop lobby floors twice a day.
• Sweep stairwells, landings, and building entrances as needed.
• Remove debris from landscaped areas and clean smudges on walls and doors.
• Report non‑functional lights, exit signs, or directory boards to management.
• Notify management of solicitors and police lobby areas during peak traffic.
• Assist the building engineer as directed by management.
• Follow instructions, take responsibility, and meet deadlines.
• Observe safety and security procedures and report hazards.

Requirements

• Polish elevator cab railings, doors, and main lobby call buttons.
• Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality.
