Description

Contribute to site observations, condition assessment reports, and construction administration activities.
Execute and eventually lead gravity and lateral system selection and layout, technical analysis, and design for projects, while contributing to workflow planning.
Work with the Engineer of Record to determine codes, loads, analysis methods, and engineering tools appropriate for the project. (Seismic analysis experience preferred but not required.)
Produce and review structural drawing packages, sketches, and engineering reports.
Support and develop creative design concepts, evaluating multiple alternatives to determine optimal solutions.
Demonstrate and uphold all of Power Design’s core values, which include integrity, accountability, teamwork, innovation, and growth.
Perform engineering analysis and calculations using industry-leading structural analysis software.
Apply expertise in steel and reinforced concrete design, while expanding knowledge in timber, reinforced masonry, structural aluminum, and stainless steel.

Knowledgeable to proficient experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) software (Revit) highly preferred.
Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering (required).
10+ years of experience with IBC-style building codes and U.S. national standards.
Excellent problem-solving skills, interpersonal skills, and communication abilities.
Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred but not required.
Working or proficient knowledge of at least one structural analysis software suite: SAP2000, ETABS, RISA3D, or similar.
Graduate degree with emphasis in Structural Engineering preferred but not required.
