Rolling Stock Engineer

You will provide support to team members to deliver an effective and professional service to our clients. Due to the multi-disciplinary nature of our design teams, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experts in a variety of different fields: Electrical Engineers, Scientists, Civil and Structural Engineers, Environmental Consultants, Project Managers, Fire Engineers, Geotechnical Engineers, Planners etc.

• Attending and participating in project meetings, design reviews and HAZOPs
• Conducting and overseeing mechanical and electrical system design. Performing calculations to support project delivery
• Contributing to the rolling stock strategy and business plan
• Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
• Supporting internal delivery and maintaining excellent customer relations, quality, and programmes. Contributing to bids and proposals
• Delivering technical work, either in formal reports or other suitable media

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Rolling Stock Engineer to join our dynamic team in Nottingham preferably. You'll help us to deliver effective and professional services for a range of varied and high-profile clients. We will ensure that you have a great deal of responsibility from day one, and we'll also support you in working towards a professional qualification with the IMechE or IET.

• Experience in rolling stock design, development and / or assurance
• Understanding of rail industry standards and regulations
• Analytical thought process, and seeking to improve existing ways of working, by finding efficiencies in processes
• Strong working knowledge of Office, with a demonstrated ability to learn new software within a working environment that utilises 3D design and digital automation
• Enthusiasm for a career in Rail Engineering, underpinned by a knowledge and understanding of our sector and work
• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Rail Engineering, General Engineering or Engineering Science
• Experience with rail vehicle testing and commissioning
• Digital tools and innovative solutions
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously whilst meeting deadlines
• The aptitude to work on your own initiative and be proactive
• Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering tools
• Working towards Chartership status in a relevant professional engineering body.
• Knowledge of sustainability practices and innovations in rolling stock engineering
