The role’s primary function is to place various steel components—rebar, flat stock, angle, wire mesh, coil rod, and channel—on rollers, cut them to specified lengths, and punch holes as required by the shop card. Additional responsibilities include unloading material trucks, moving material from storage racks to rollers or shake‑out tables with an overhead crane, setting jigs, hand‑feeding material into the iron worker, and shearing or punching as needed. The technician also stacks and labels material on pallets or carts for different jobs, maintains a clean and safe work area, and performs miscellaneous tasks as directed by the supervisor.
