NBGCS Steel Detailer/BIM Modeler

Description

As a Steel Detailer/BIM Modeler at Nucor, you will detail metal building systems—including structural steel, wall and roof panels, and trim—to ensure components fit together as a complete design solution.

You will create construction drawings using specialized software, generate and verify fabrication drawings and reports, produce bill of materials for field construction, design and troubleshoot standardized steel framing with project‑specific requests, and ensure quality through thorough contract and design coordination.

Requirements

• Minimum qualification: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience or training in 3‑D modeling.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Preferred: Associate’s degree in Architecture or Construction Management.
• Preferred: Experience with BIM software such as Tekla.
• Preferred: Basic knowledge of standard construction practices.
• Preferred: Experience detailing metal buildings or working for a metal building manufacturer.
