  • Oversee all yearly updates to the safety program, including the Safety Manual, Injury/Illness Prevention Plan, Emergency Procedures Manual, and the Emergency Contingency Plan
  • Resource expert on EHS regulatory requirements, corporate policies and procedures and the adoption into SOP’s and WI’s.
  • Maintain all weekly, monthly, and yearly safety inspections

  • Oversee the EHS programs and initiate activities that will improve the level of personnel safety and health and environmental compliance.
  • Coordinate operational First Aid training requirements and records.

  • Create and execute employee training programs to reduce operational risks.

  • Review safety related documents and narratives such as Safety Committee minutes, inspection reports, forklift inspection checklists, accident investigation reports, and near miss reports
  • Maintain WHMIS and GHS requirements for hazard communication and keep MSDS current.
  • Ensure that all corrective actions and recommendations are completed and communicated within the expected timeframe. Examples include the following: incident investigation actions, audit findings, maturity assessments, and safety committee
  • Keep records of all employee training, corrections of unsafe conditions, and dates and results of workplace Maintain and submit documentation as required.
  • Ensure required EHS documentation is completed for all new processes, materials, and equipment including SOPs, JSA’s, and Lock-out/Tag-out
  • Coordinate Industrial Hygiene surveys as required (air, noise, ergonomics, )
  • Develop and administer EHS training for all employees (if required, including outside sales personnel, office, )
  • Follow incident management processes and conduct timely incident investigations and ensure timely reporting.
  • Review and update the EHS policies and procedures in accordance with Company policies and in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and guidelines.
  • Management representative for ISO 14001 / 9001 certifications

  • Knowledge of OHSA regulations and federal/local EHS regulations.
  • Bachelor’s degree required in environmental science, occupational safety, industrial hygiene, engineering or related field preferred.
  • Without a Bachelor’s degree, seven years’ EHS experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Understands individual strengths and opportunity areas and seeks development opportunities to leverage strengths and lean into opportunity areas. Open to both giving and receiving feedback.
  • Minimum of valid certification for Standard Intermediate First Aid
