As a Network Technician in our Energy Operations team, you’ll be at the heart of keeping our gas transportation assets running safely and efficiently. From inspecting and testing instrumentation systems to fault-finding and repairs, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our electrical and instrumentation (E&I) systems are in top condition across the network.
- Asset Health: Assess and report the condition of Electrical & Instrumentation equipment and systems.
- Standby Rota: Participate in an E&I standby rota to maintain service standards.
- Technical Variety – Work on instrumentation and electrical systems across multiple sites and asset types.
- Team Collaboration – Partner with colleagues and contractors to deliver safe, high-quality work.
- Operational Impact – Play a key role in fault diagnosis, asset health reporting, and emergency response.

You’re a skilled technician with a background in electrical and instrumentation systems, and a passion for keeping infrastructure running smoothly.
If you have experience in maintenance, fault finding, and repairing instrumentation systems, along with a solid understanding of instrumentation/electrical drawings, technical documents, and maintenance procedures, we want to hear from you! Whether your background is domestic or commercial electrical, if you have electrical testing experience, this could be the perfect role for you.
- Qualifications – Electrical testing and inspection (C&G 2391 or equivalent), Instrumentation and Control or Electrical qualification.
- Driving Licence – A full UK driving licence is essential due to the travel involved.
- Team Player – Able to work independently and collaboratively, with strong problem-solving skills.
- Technical Knowledge – Understanding of relevant legislation and standards (e.g. BS7671, EAWR, Health & Safety at Work Act).
- Codes of Practice: Working knowledge of relevant codes of practice, engineering instructions, and statutory regulations.
- Documentation Skills – Comfortable working with technical drawings, maintenance procedures and reporting systems.
- E&I Experience – Proven experience in instrumentation and electrical maintenance, fault finding and repair.
- Industry Certifications – COMPEX EX01–04, TEM 2 & 4, SCO1 & 2 (internal authorisations like EL6 RA(I) desirable but not essential).
