What you would be doing

- Maintain and upkeep the contractor management system including contractor approvals
- Support the company occupational health programme in relation to occupational related health conditions/ injuries by reviewing occupational health reports and taking necessary action
- Assess the Company and individual needs for HSE training in respect of maintaining statutory levels of training and competence. Delivery HSE training within own area of expertise
- Support a positive safety culture and drive key cultural improvements throughout the business as determined by the HSE team
- Participate and support in accident and incident investigations, ensuring RIDDOR compliance
- Implementation and maintenance of associated management systems
- Implement a site audit programme and conducting audits, inspections, whilst constantly seeking areas for improvement and development in health and safety performance
- Principal contact with external, regulatory, audit and trade bodies on health, safety and environmental matters e.g. HSE, EA, LRQA
- Identify opportunities for continuous HSE improvement and assist in implementing
- Provision of statistics, trend analysis etc. Develop and monitor H&S key performance indicators
- Liaise with insurers and solicitors on the provision of information, reports and investigations of personal injury/ illness claims where required
- Support in the ITMs Risk/CoSHH assessment programmes

- Knowledge of design safety processes Hazop, LOPA etc
- Strong interpersonal skills
- NEBOSH Diploma/L5 Equivalent (desirable)
- Excellent communication skills including report writing skills
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings
- Educated to degree level (desirable)
- NEBOSH General Cert (Minimum)
- Demonstrates a can-do attitude
- Advisory capacity, interpretation and applicability of legislation to the company and its operations
- Previous experience in high hazard Health and Safety operations
- Ability to work across multiple functions and be able to communicate with people at different levels within the organisation
- Attention to detail
- NEBOSH Environmental Certificate or equivalent Environmental Education (desirable)
- Be able to challenge people with an objective approach
- NEBOSH Process Safety (desirable)
