Accounting Associate

The Accounting Associate supports all functions of the accounting department by performing daily routine tasks, administrative accounting, and project-related accounting. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this role is essential in managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, weekly payroll, credit card transactions, quarterly reporting, and year-end tax preparation.

In addition, the Accounting Associate will assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP and maintain accurate financial records. This position plays a key role in the day-to-day accounting operations of a fast-paced, growing construction business.

• Communicate with vendors, customers and internal staff
• Ensure all financial records comply with company policies, accounting standards, and industry regulations
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
• Assist with maintaining accurate accounting records
• Assist with weekly payroll processing
• Assist with job costing, compliance, expense tracking and reconciliation
• Assist with processing accounts payable and accounts receivable

Forks Lath & Plaster (FLP) is currently seeking a motivated and highly organized individual to join our team as a full time Accounting Associate.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• 1–3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related finance experience (construction industry experience preferred)
• Able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Accounting software (ex: Outlook, Word, Excel, and QuickBooks)
• Clear background screen
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)
• Associate’s or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance, Business Administration or related field (preferred)
• Reliable means of transportation
• Current and valid driver’s license
• Able to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
