The role involves assisting senior certified planners in reviewing regulatory codes, analyzing land features, preparing due‑diligence analyses, land‑development concepts, master plans, and creating graphic illustrations both digitally and by hand. Interns will also help edit technical plans, attend project meetings, visit construction sites, and support the team throughout the construction phase while adhering to entitlement procedures and company standards.
- Review and interpret regulatory codes, ordinances, and comprehensive plans under senior planner guidance.
- Analyze land features to identify development opportunities, constraints, and layout options.
- Prepare due‑diligence analyses, land‑development concepts, master development plans, and graphic illustrations (digital and hand‑drawn).
- Assist in editing technical plans, details, and specifications.
- Participate in project meetings with staff, clients, and regulatory agencies.
- Conduct construction site visits to gather information and support senior team members.

Candidates must be pursuing a four‑year degree in Planning or a related field, possess strong freehand illustration and computer rendering abilities, and demonstrate excellent written and oral communication. A positive attitude, willingness to learn, strong work ethic, and ability to handle multiple priorities are essential; a portfolio may be requested.
Preferred qualifications include proficiency with AutoCAD, Sketch‑up, 3DS Max, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and GIS, as well as progress toward AICP certification or sustainability credentials such as LEED or ENVISION.
