  • Managing Resources (Practitioner)
  • Assist with the response to incidents and emergencies on the network to ensure safety, minimise disruption to customers and protect the assets.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, to provide a point of contact and attend on site as necessary.
  • Responsible for asserting and discharging Streets and Network Operations statutory obligations as the Highway / Road Tunnel and Traffic Signals Authority and other relevant legal duties including health and safety legislation.
  • Support the management of minor works and events by carrying out site checks on quality and quantity of works carried out for payment purposes.
  • Contribute to the development of asset management maturity for Tunnel, Pumps & Piers asset management, by developing our data collection and management, creating and reviewing procedures, developing and evaluating asset condition.
  • Actively participate in open communication and knowledge sharing to build asset capability across the team.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day delivery of regional operations with in house teams, suppliers and contractors to provide a cost effective responsive and resilient service.
  • Responsible for the protection and improvement of operational performance within the region in order to achieve specific scorecard objectives.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day management and maintenance of Road Tunnels, Pump Stations, River Piers & ITS assets, working with in house teams, suppliers and contractors to provide a cost effective, responsive and resilient service.
  • Responsible for the protection and improvement of operational performance within TfL’s Tunnels, Pumps, Piers & ITS assets in order to achieve specific scorecard objectives. Assist with the development and review of planned preventative maintenance activities.
  • Acquire a working knowledge of the Tunnel, Pumps & Piers assets; taking a proactive attitude to managing risks, identify commercial opportunities and be able to respond appropriately, whilst seeking to enhance the customer experience.
  • Responsible for maintaining day to day working relationships with stakeholders (including Boroughs), making TfL easy to do business with.
  • Provide operational input into schemes and project lifecycle to ensure good quality and efficient outputs.
  • Develop an understanding of one of more Statutory Risks, e.g. Fire, Water, Electrical, Asbestos, Structures.

  • A working knowledge of Internet Protocol (IP) networks, including but not limited to Multiprotocol Label Switching.
  • Appreciation of the political landscape in London, including Boroughs and key influencers.
  • Experience of maintaining relationships and liaison with team members, customers and key stakeholders both internal and external.
  • Experience of working remotely and/or with prearranged targets or goals.

  • An awareness of statutory obligations and legal frameworks (including Health and Safety legislation).
  • Acquire a working knowledge of the regional network; taking a proactive attitude to managing risks, identify commercial opportunities and be able to respond appropriately, whilst seeking to enhance the customer experience.
  • Contract Performance Management (Practitioner)
  • Willingness to undertake any specialist training that may be required for management of Tunnels, Pumps & Piers, e.g. working at height, manual handling, G39, confined spaces etc
  • Incident Reporting and Investigation (Practitioner)
  • Maintenance and Operations investment decision making (Operational Management) - (Awareness).
  • Good working knowledge of one or more of Surface Transport assets and systems (eg Road Tunnels / Pumps / River Piers & ITS equipment).
  • An understanding of CDM and the role of the Client.
  • Business document production (includes Word processing, Spreadsheets and presentations) (Practitioner)
  • Experience of Mechanical and Electrical and Intelligent Transport Systems.
  • Experience of delivering a high standard 24-7 operational network management service.
  • Knowledge of the London Wide Surface Transport Network.
  • Information Management and Reporting (including Data Management) (Practitioner)
  • Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent and qualification in a mechanical, electrical, communication networks subject.
  • An understanding or previous experience of mechanical, electrical and communications equipment and their management.
