Test, diagnose, charge and repair batteries. Read and interpret equipment electrical diagrams and schematics. Troubleshoot and repair electrical system malfunctions.
Provide advanced instruction on construct and operate a hydrostatic system using components common to a typical hydraulic system. Assemble a hydraulic hose and fitting assembly and test under normal working pressures; connect and operate a flow meter to determine hydraulic system problems, troubleshoot and operate hydraulic system using logical troubleshooting sequence. Use basic knowledge to test electrohydraulic valves.
Service and analyze starting and chagrining system malfunctions on all types of automotive, materials handling and construction equipment. Disassemble, inspect, bench test, repair and assemble starting motors, DC Generators, AC Alternators and other electrical components of the starting and charging circuits.
Provide advanced instruction on troubleshoot, analyze, and isolate diesel fuel system malfunctions on various types of fuel systems. Perform minor and major adjustments to fuel system components consisting of setting racks, governors, and timing fuel pumps to engines; adjust engine speeds, both minimum and maximum; adjust starting valve linkage and any other components that affect engine performance.
Take record and evaluate compression readings. Disassemble, inspect, repair, assemble, test and adjust diesel fuel system components (including mechanical and hydraulic governors) in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications.
Provide advanced instruction on the advanced training in diagnostic and troubleshooting procedures, to isolate malfunctions in military and commercial vehicles, utilizing analog, digital, and computer diagnostic equipment in both the field and shop conditions.
Provide advanced instruction on the disassemble, clean, repair, adjust, and assemble standard transmissions, transfer cases, power take-off units, drive shafts, differentials, front drive axels, track-chains, pivot brakes, final drives, sprockets, idlers, rollers, and track pads.

Ability to pass a background check.
Minimum 10 years of construction electrician experience.
Previous teaching or mentoring experience is highly desirable.
Shall be skilled in troubleshooting, tune-up and maintenance of gasoline, diesel engines; automotive and construction equipment power train, chassis and component assemblies. This includes valve and cylinder reconditioning testing and analysis of electrical and fuel injection systems while employing appropriate test equipment.
