Utilizing Microsoft Excel and Mathcad Prime to develop structural calculations.
Leading field inspection teams for evaluation of structural systems of existing buildings.
Work within a paperless (or limited-use) office environment and remote working when required.
Coordination with various engineering disciplines as well as with architects in the development of design contract documents.
Work on design-build and other high-profile projects.

5 to 7 years of relevant post education experience in engineering discipline and prior structural design experience in transportation projects.
Knowledgeable in state and city building codes, as well as industry standard specifications (IBC, ACI 318, AISC 360, etc.).
Master of Science in Civil Engineering with a focus on structural engineering.
Proficiency of AutoCAD and REVIT; knowledgeable in MicroStation and Open Building is a plus.
Aviation structures including terminals, concourses, hangers, and ancillary support structures.
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a focus on structural engineering, or equivalent.Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on structural engineering, highly preferred.
Strong capabilities and understanding in using structural software such as STAADPro, RAM Structural System, SAP2000, ETABS and SAFE (or equivalent).
Interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.
Effective self-leadership with attention to detail, results oriented, and managing multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment.
Excellent communication and writing skills and well organized.
PE Licensed (NY/NJ) or capable of obtaining a New York State PE license within 1 year.
Detailed experience related in transportation facility design and rehabilitation.
Knowledgeable in STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, RAM Structural System, Mathcad, Excel or similar structural design software.
Resiliency related studies and design.
Experience working with transportation clients (i.e., Amtrak, NYCT MTA, NJ Transit).
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, follow instruction, work independently, and comply with company policies.
Prior experience working with construction documents.
Knowledge in the development of CSI-format construction specifications.
