The Practice Technology Leader ensures LaBella’s people, processes, and technology work together to strengthen project delivery, support divisional goals, and modernize how the company operates. The role provides direction and oversight to the corporate Practice Technology team and technology used for project delivery activities across LaBella. The leader partners closely with Division Directors and senior leadership to align practice technology processes with company‑wide goals.
The leader drives strategic technology alignment, collaborates with division heads to understand goals and operational pressures, and establishes shared planning, prioritization, and communication structures. Coordination with IT, Operations, and divisions ensures technology choices are intentional and business‑driven.
Oversight includes evaluating and improving tools such as Autodesk, Bentley, GIS, drones, scanning, content management, and workflow platforms. The leader conducts assessments, prioritizes high‑impact improvements, and defines standards for rollout, training, adoption tracking, and ongoing support.
Team leadership involves building a multi‑layered Practice Technology organization that may include managers, specialists, and coordinators across BIM, spatial data, AI, change management, GIS, and training. Responsibilities also cover budget development, vendor negotiation, and alignment with security and compliance policies.
- Develop and lead a cohesive Practice Technology Strategy aligned with COO direction and division-level priorities.
- Maintain close collaboration with Division Directors to understand goals, opportunities, and operational pressures.
- Create shared planning, prioritization, and communication structures for technology decisions.
- Coordinate with IT, Operations, and Divisions to ensure intentional, business‑driven technology choices.
- Oversee technology affecting project delivery, including Autodesk, Bentley, GIS, drones, scanning, and workflow tools.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of current tools, workflows, and needs across divisions.
- Prioritize improvements that deliver the greatest business impact with division leadership.
- Define how new tools are evaluated, deployed, trained, supported, and measured.
- Implement rollout standards covering pilots, change management, communication, training, adoption tracking, and follow‑up.
- Create a unified data structure and content organization for consistent team usage.
- Act as translator between IT and practice to align needs, constraints, and priorities.
- Lead identification and deployment of AI, automation, analytics, and emerging digital tools.
- Partner with the Applied AI Manager to operationalize internal AI tools and evaluate new technologies.
- Build and manage a multi‑layered Practice Technology team including managers, specialists, and coordinators.
- Develop, manage, and track the annual Practice Technology labor and expense budget.
- Negotiate and manage relationships with Practice Technology vendors for cost‑effective solutions.
- Coordinate with the Information Security Manager to ensure compliance with IT security policies.

The position requires 15+ years of BIM experience, at least 3 years in a leadership role, and expertise across multiple AEC disciplines and Autodesk platforms. A bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred, and strong communication, coordination, and team development skills are essential.

- Experience across multiple AEC disciplines (Architecture, Civil, MEP, Structural) required or strongly preferred.
- Expert proficiency in Autodesk‑based software platforms across multiple disciplines required.
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing standards and templates across disciplines.
- Experience managing teams and developing staff.
- Strong understanding of interdisciplinary coordination and project delivery processes.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Ability to collaborate across technology teams, divisions, and multi‑office initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
Benefits
Salary ranges from $130,000 to $145,000, adjusted based on experience, education, and location.
