RS&H is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Associate to join its Buildings team. The role offers a hybrid schedule of office and remote work and involves compiling data, assisting with permit and report preparation, and conducting material testing. You will also perform elementary design calculations, prepare quantity takeoffs, estimates, and engineering plans, and utilize engineering software to create drawings and visual aids. Field reviews and observations of ongoing construction projects are also part of the responsibilities.
To succeed, you must hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program or have an equivalent mix of education and experience. You should be familiar with applicable federal, state, and local codes, criteria, regulations, and ordinances, and possess basic knowledge of production software. A passion for engineering, a willingness to learn, and strong oral and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to build strong relationships with clients, contractors, team members, and other stakeholders.
