Interns will create, revise, and maintain engineering and record drawings, support facilities and equipment documentation, gather information from verbal communication, sketches, vendor catalogs, field notes, and site visits, and perform necessary mathematical calculations. Proficiency in Autodesk CAD tools (AutoCAD Electrical, Civil3D, Inventor, Vault) and Microsoft Office is required.
Candidates must be at least 18 years old, have completed at least one year toward an associate degree in drafting/CAD or a related engineering technology, and be scheduled to graduate in December 2026 or later. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required.
The position is classified as sedentary, involving occasional light physical effort such as lifting up to 10 pounds. Applicants should be familiar with conventional drafting symbols, drafting methods, and color differentiation, and must demonstrate ethical behavior in line with AEP corporate policies.
