The Customer Order Engineering Manager at GE Vernova leads a team responsible for configuring products, generating Bills of Materials, producing customer drawings, and delivering other technical outputs tied to customer orders. This role ensures engineering changes receive timely approvals and that required materials are procured promptly, coordinating closely with Technical Project Managers to meet delivery schedules.
Key duties include reviewing technical specifications, clarifying requirements, and determining product configurations. The manager oversees the creation of BOMs in SAP, the development and review of drawings using E3 and AutoCAD, and the management of engineering change notifications through the ECN database. They also track milestones in the Order Tracking Record system and ensure all documentation is uploaded to EDMATS for customer approval.
In addition to technical oversight, the manager provides leadership and direction to the engineering team, setting work‑group goals, conducting performance appraisals, and fostering professional growth. They facilitate communication between internal groups and external customers, ensure compliance with company training and safety initiatives, and act as a liaison for technical and business information.
The position requires a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (or related field), at least five years of electrical control engineering experience—preferably with high‑voltage equipment—and a minimum of three years of supervisory experience. Candidates must be proficient with E3, AutoCAD, SAP, AC1 configurator, and ECN processes, and demonstrate strong interpersonal, problem‑solving, and time‑management skills.
