Work collaboratively with the equipment managers
Assist with the preparation to mobilize dive equipment, inspect and maintain dive equipment as directed and manage overall condition of the dive locker as needed
Identify elements, analyze deterioration according to appropriate standards, assess remaining sections, and report findings in a diligent manner
Prepare or assist in preparation of reports including data entry, text writing and photo editing post field work
Maintain personal diving records and ensure proper filing for company reference
Ensure safety at all times and adhere to Moffatt & Nichol’s Quality Management System (QMS)
Drive trucks over 10,000 lbs., tow trailers, and operate vessels as platforms to safely facilitate structural inspections
Communicate regularly with other professionals and departments for best practices at each job site
Research and prepare safety and field documents prior to field work
Monitor equipment and procedures to ensure compliance with safety procedures
Conduct underwater and topside structural inspections in a team environment and assist in supervision of site investigations as needed

Field work requires incumbent to carry heavy equipment over unpaved, rural, and unmarked terrain
Commercial diving requires specific physical conditioning and strength
Valid driver’s license in good standing
Some travel is required
Certified Commercial Diver is required; ADCI, HSE, DCBC, IMCA, ADAS or completion of a US military equivalent diving school
Prior experience related to equipment or mechanical maintenance required
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Selected candidate must consent to and pass a post-offer/pre-employment drug screening
Due to client parameters, the selected candidate must show (post offer) proof of U.S. citizenship and clear results of a thorough background check that may include, but is not limited to credit and criminal history
Must be able to move among a variety of simultaneous priorities
Associate’s or Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
1 to 6 years of diving experience required; structural or construction inspection experience strongly preferred
Willingness and ability to become a certified ADCI Dive Supervisor within 1 to 2 years is strongly desired
Field work requires diving in waters and exposure to extreme elements
Ability and willingness to travel (approximately 20%) both domestically and internationally as required. Most work is local and does not require overnight stays
Boater Safety Card preferred
Current First Aid, CPR, and Emergency Oxygen Provider certification required
Possession of or eligibility to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC)
Must live or be willing to relocate to the New York City or Jersey City, NJ area upon hire
Office work requires ongoing reporting work requiring focus
All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171
Software proficiency with Microsoft products
The incumbent must be able to lift, carry, climb, and navigate in a small boat
Note: Our dive locker and platforms are in Jersey City, NJ which requires personal transportation. Occasionally reporting to the office in Midtown Manhattan is required
Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges FHWA-NHI-130055 and Underwater Bridge Inspection FHWA-NHI-130091 preferred but not required
