Foresters will identify, inspect, and evaluate trees and brush along utility lines, then submit inspection results and recommendations to clients. They will also plan, direct, and coordinate assigned tree‑clearance crews, negotiate access issues, and act as a liaison among clients, crews, and utility customers.
ACRT, Inc. is hiring a full‑time Consulting Utility Forester who enjoys working outdoors. The position is suitable for both entry‑level and seasoned professionals with backgrounds in forestry, horticulture, arboriculture, environmental studies, conservation, or related fields.
Candidates must hold a two‑year or four‑year degree in forestry, natural resources, environmental science, or a related discipline, or a high school diploma with two years of utility vegetation management (UVM) experience; the diploma requirement can be waived with four years of UVM experience. Preferred qualifications include prior vegetation‑management work, strong computer skills with Microsoft Office, and experience using GIS‑based data‑collection tools.
The role requires self‑motivation, organization, production focus, and the ability to work independently while managing a geographic area for vegetation activities. Candidates must possess excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, be able to multitask, manage time effectively, hold a valid driver’s license, and work in varied terrain and inclement weather with flexible schedules, including nights and weekends.
