Senior Project Coordinator – Solid Waste Management

Description

The coordinator will structure and manage projects across all solid‑waste streams, ensuring consistency and quality of multidisciplinary deliverables. Key tasks include developing schedules, coordinating engineering, environmental, regulatory and operational inputs, and supporting the preparation of ministerial or regulatory authorizations. The role also contributes to service proposals, business development, and continuous improvement of internal practices while delivering pragmatic, context‑appropriate solutions.

• Coordinate solid waste projects for municipal, public, parapublic, institutional and industrial clients
• Act as technical integrator between engineering, environmental, regulatory and operational teams
• Support feasibility studies, scenario development and technology assessments
• Develop and manage project schedules, interfaces and dependencies
• Prepare and submit ministerial and regulatory authorizations as needed
• Contribute to service proposals, including methodology, effort estimates and fee calculations
• Support business development for municipal and public sector opportunities
• Drive continuous improvement of internal solid waste management practices
• Deliver pragmatic, context‑appropriate solutions adapted to field realities

Requirements

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical, environmental, chemical or a related engineering discipline and be a registered Professional Engineer (OIQ). Ten to fifteen years of experience in solid‑waste management or environmental infrastructure, with a proven record of coordinating complex multidisciplinary projects, is required. The ideal applicant is bilingual in French and English, possesses strong judgment, communication and structuring skills, and can travel occasionally.

• Hold a bachelor's degree in civil, mechanical, environmental, chemical or related engineering
• Be a registered Professional Engineer (OIQ)
• Possess 10‑15+ years of experience in solid waste management or environmental infrastructure
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex, multidisciplinary projects
• Experience with municipal, public, parapublic or institutional sectors; industrial/mining or Indigenous contexts a plus
• Strong knowledge of regulatory, operational and social aspects of waste management
• Excellent communication, coordination and professional judgment skills
• Bilingual in French and English with willingness to travel occasionally
