Superintendent

Description

• Supervise and oversee field teams, including 10--20 specialized craft performing soil remediation, excavation, and D&D of nuclear systems and structures.
• Support contract administration, change management, and project documentation.
• Lead, mentor, and develop field supervisors and craft personnel.
• Review, approve, and negotiate change orders.
• Identify and resolve field issues promptly; escalate concerns to the Operations Manager as needed.
• Exercise stop-work authority when safety or compliance is compromised.
• Oversee and approve monthly job cost updates and quarterly cash flow projections.
• Ensure all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and execute daily work plans and provide technical input into work control and planning documents.
• Maintain accurate daily field logs and records.
• Foster strong client relationships and represent APTIM professionally on site.
• Assist the Operations Manager with day-to-day operational oversight and project completion planning.

Requirements

• Excellent organizational, administrative, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience performing high-risk work in highly regulated settings.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 10 years of construction experience, with at least 5 years in a Superintendent or leadership role (preferably on USACE or DOE nuclear D&D projects).
• Proven record of strong safety performance and sound judgment.
• Construction Field Work Supervisor Qualification Card preferred.

• Minimum 5 years of nuclear or hazardous waste experience, ideally within a decommissioning environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to learn APTIM systems and processes quickly.
• Experience in leadership, safety management, planning, and contract administration.
• Radiological Worker and HAZWOPER training desired.
