- Utilization and experience with advanced techniques with modification and extension of theories, precepts, and practices of planning sciences, data sciences (preferred) and related disciplines;
- Experience in technical writing skills and verbal communication abilities to present modeling results for various stakeholders (clients, TRB or IBTTA conferences, model user groups).
- Knowledge and experience with the principles, practices, and objectives of transportation planning applications, specifically the 4-Step process of travel demand modeling, Activity-Based Models, micro-simulation, and dynamic traffic assignment;
- Knowledge and experience with choice models, development, and application to travel demand, use of econometrics in estimating demand models from survey data;
- 8 plus years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or Urban Planning or related field
- Knowledge and experience with GIS and database analysis including developing scripts to process data in and out of GIS files or automated routines in QGIS / ArcGIS.
- Knowledge and experience with travel demand modeling software, such as Cube, TransCAD, TRANSIMS, and Visum (preferred);
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Urban Planning or related field
- Programming experience with at least two of the following: Microsoft Visual Studio, SQL, C++ (preferred), Python (preferred), Rscript (preferred), JAVA, including the ,use of AI to assist in code development and debugging;
- Visa support is an option for his position
- Relocation is available for this role.
