Observe teammates work practices/procedures to identify both safe and at-risk behaviors. Provide constructive feedback to reinforce safe practices and correct unsafe ones.
Support supervisor on safety related activities. May assist in and/or conduct area safety meetings.
Develop, track, and analyze incident safety metrics for shift and works with teams to develop action plans based on analysis.
Has a relationship with teammates where teammates will be open to sharing issues. Be an advocate for the operating teams to help with their safety needs.
Assist Site Safety Manager and Site Safety Trainer in communicating/educating teammates on safety initiatives and safety culture improvement plans.
Lead/Help Facilitate teammate safety subcommittees and safety committees on shift.
Be a resource for safety related questions or concerns, gather input on safety related issues from teammates, and support resolution of those.
Perform daily walkthroughs of manufacturing areas, engage employees, and respond to safety-related requests from areas teammates.
Documentation and Reporting: Review observations, suggestions reported by their shift. Share summary to area and safety leadership and suggest improvements based on their observations. Help track safety suggestions and status of improvement activities including updating of Area Safety Boards.
Get involved in procedural (CTOPS) reviews and updates from a safety/hazard recognition perspective, including task-related procedures as well as equipment specific LTCT procedures.
Risk Assessments: Be a resource for teammates to do real-time informal risk assessments.
Help Foster Safety Culture: Foster a culture of safety within the organization, encouraging teammates to prioritize safety in their daily tasks and decision-making.
Incident investigations – when an incident occurs, begin investigation, collection of data/evidence, and interviews of teammates involved in the incident (both directly and indirectly). Participate in Root Cause Analysis of incidents as needed.
Participate and/or facilitate area PSSRs, MOCs, Risk Assessments.
Training and Education: Conduct training sessions to educate teammates on safety protocols, procedures, and the importance of maintaining a safe work environment.
