The Supervisor, Ordnance role oversees a team of employees performing mechanical duties on artillery weapons and a wide range of combustion‑powered vehicles, including light armored, amphibious assault, tracked vehicles, HMMWV, JLTV, and utility trailers designed for combat or ship loading.
Key responsibilities include overseeing the service, storage, and repair of artillery weapons and sights, as well as LAV, AAV, JLTV, HMMWV, and trailers; determining work sequence and assignment based on priority; managing equipment readiness and inventory; inspecting work for compliance with specifications and safety policies; interpreting technical documents; coordinating with other departments; and ensuring adherence to ISO‑9002 procedures.
The position also involves recommending personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures, training new workers, and performing other related duties as assigned.
Basic qualifications require a high school diploma or equivalent, at least five years of hands‑on experience with ordnance, ground vehicles, or heavy equipment maintenance, and three years of supervisory experience in a maintenance, mechanical, or military/defense environment. Candidates must be able to read and apply technical manuals, specifications, engineering drawings, and work orders, and possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred qualifications include relevant MOS codes in Ordnance or Mechanical Maintenance, an associate or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, logistics, or a related field, and experience working within ISO‑9002 or similar quality‑management systems.
