  • Oversee the physical relocation of hazardous materials, including packing, loading, transportation, and unloading (Lab Moves)
  • Conduct onsite evaluations to assess and categorize hazardous waste materials.
  • Upon employment, you will be required to participate in a random drug screening program (inclusive of THC) as part of our company’s commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and regulatory agencies regarding waste management processes.
  • Creating paperwork (manifests, labels, etc.) onsite
  • Loading & securing trucks according to DOT requirements
  • Document and maintain accurate records of waste disposal activities, including manifests and shipping documents.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to hazardous waste handling and transportation.
  • Segregating chemicals by hazard class & regulations
  • The Environmental Specialist frequently handles hazardous chemicals and biological waste and is responsible for donning and doffing personal protective equipment. This role is considered safety-sensitive
  • Prepare and label containers according to regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations involving hazardous materials and ability to be on ER team and rotational schedule.
  • Safely pack and segregate different types of hazardous chemicals and waste for transportation and disposal.
  • Containerizing waste for shipment
  • Offloading waste back at the Davie facility
  • Preparing truck with necessary supplies/tools for job
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of waste materials and supplies needed for waste-handling activities.

  • Prior successful experience in a customer service role
  • Must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication abilities to effectively interact with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders, ensuring clear and professional exchanges of information
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship
  • Ability to complete a 2 to 3 year professional advancement program in hazardous waste management
  • Ability to work as a member of a team as well as individually
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in the hazardous-waste industry, or relevant military experience
  • Skilled in building strong, positive relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Active HAZWOPER 24- or 40-hour certification
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours within the work week (Monday through Friday)
  • Ability to work overtime on a regular basis
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues, develop solutions, and implement strategies to achieve positive outcomes
  • Valid US driver’s license
  • Must have a reliable form of transportation
  • Must be able to lift 60 pounds on a regular basis
  • Placarding trucks (if needed)
  • Proper use of PPE, safe handling of chemicals, etc.
  • Must be able to report to Somerville, MA office within 1 hour during Emergency Response rotating shifts
  • Prior relevant industry experience
  • Must be willing to consent to Motor Vehicle Record screening, criminal background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screen (inclusive of THC)
