We are seeking an engaged leader to supervise a team of client accountants and manage the financials of a portfolio of estates. The role blends strong technical knowledge with visible, supportive leadership, focusing on developing people, setting standards and maintaining high‑quality outputs while building a collaborative team culture.

• Manage milestones across team and portfolio, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
• Oversee service charge accounts in line with ARMA and ICAEW guidelines.
• Produce quarterly and periodic financial reports for clients.
• Prepare service charge budgets, year‑end accounts, and balancing adjustments.
• Handle utilities and insurance recharges.
• Administer RMC statutory accounts and trust tax.
• Issue service charge and ground rent demands, ensuring timely remittance to freeholders.
• Conduct internal reviews of service charge accounts using checklists and matrices.
• Train, mentor, and support team members; hold regular one‑to‑one and group meetings; promote the Encore Way.
• Complete annual appraisals and probation reviews with clear, constructive feedback.
• Act as first point of contact for team queries, resolve issues and encourage solution proposals.
• Ensure monthly bank reconciliations are completed; investigate discrepancies; keep estate accounts in credit.
• Reconcile opening balances for estates transferred from other agents or developers and integrate them into Qube.
• Collaborate with the Client Accounting Manager to improve systems, processes and commercial awareness.
• Monitor health and accuracy of service charge accounts; provide financial insight to Estate Managers; identify need for S20B notices.
• Resolve escalated leaseholder service charge queries or refer them appropriately.
• Prepare handover information for estates leaving management.
• Manage corporation tax administration, void charges and allocation of completion cheques.
• Support wider accounts team and other departments with day‑to‑day and ad‑hoc tasks.

Requirements

The ideal candidate has experience in service charge accounting, is part‑qualified CIMA, ACCA or ACA (or qualified by experience), and has prepared year‑end accounts. Familiarity with Qube software is advantageous. Personal qualities include a positive, approachable leadership style, strong communication, a collaborative mindset and confidence in guiding and developing others while upholding high standards.
