Lead the design phases (concept, outline, and detail) for Instrumentation Control Automation systems, adhering to international standards. Sound knowledge of ICA design (instrumentation, PLC and SCADA systems), motor control systems (MCC’s), system architecture, fieldbus/communication networks, P&ID’s, ATEX installation practice, functional safety, development of control specifications (URS/FDS), schedules and system requirements within process/industrial environment.
Lead and co-ordinate work with multi-disciplinary teams (e.g., process, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and ICA)
Engage in global activities, leading multi-disciplinary collaborative efforts and enhancing team capabilities.
Identify and develop innovative and optimised technical solutions based on client needs and drivers
Development of Design Basis, specifications, P & ID’s, System/Network Architecture, Fieldbus/communication networks, Control philosophy, Functional Design Specifications, PLC/ICA Section General Arrangements, Wiring and Schematic Diagrams, I/O schedules, Loop Diagrams, Instrument schedules and datasheets.
Mentor junior team members, fostering professional growth and effective task delegation.
Ensuring projects meet required technical, legislative, quality, safety and environmental standards and objectives.
Attend factory acceptance tests for panel, PLC/HMI application software and SCADA.
Supporting and / or Leading design and advisory services relating to new and existing water and wastewater process plants, pumping stations and ancillary assets.
Ensuring safety of yourself and others through design leadership and actions.
Participate and manage inspection, testing and commissioning stages relevant to ICA equipment and installations.
Establish and grow relationships with clients and capital alliance partners on project technical, commercial and progress matters
Provide technical direction in project delivery, ensuring alignment with industry standards and client requirements including Managing technical client relationships and support project pursuits.
Prepare and review of specifications, data sheets, drawings and technical documentation.

Understanding of electrical infrastructure design and their integration with the ICA system, Ensuring contractors designs comply with the latest client specifications and other relevant industry specifications (WIMES, IET wiring regulations etc.) and legislations.
Degree in Electrical Engineering or other directly related degree
Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status and membership of a professional institution such as IET, InstMC or CIWEM or working towards and nearing application.
Awareness of best practise and standards in cybersecurity for industrial automation and control systems.
Experience with AutoCAD, AutoDesk Plant 3D and Common Data Environments
Significant experience and track record in technical delivery of process plant systems on complex water industry engineering projects preferably related to water and wastewater industry.
Ability to self-start and work both independently and as a team member carrying out production and checking complex electrical detailed designs including calculations, specifications, reports, and drawings.
Feasibility to detailed design stage delivery experience
Knowledge on current UK design standards, working practices and national guidance.
