In this role you will support your team by maintaining a strong safety focus, demonstrating trustworthiness, and applying comprehensive pruning techniques—including natural and directional pruning—for routine and emergency restorations. You must possess the requirements of lower climber classifications, climb trees near energized lines to perform maintenance tasks, safely remove overhangs with assistance, and use bucket equipment when needed. Additionally, you will train less‑experienced climbers, demonstrate excellent knowledge of tree‑care equipment, exercise good judgment, and join storm restoration efforts as required.
Other mandatory duties involve properly inspecting and wearing personal protective equipment, maintaining company vehicles, equipment, and tools, performing rigorous physical labor, using company radios and hand tools correctly, following directions, working at heights or in confined spaces, and operating outdoors in inclement weather while adhering to all safety rules and company policies.
The Trimmer A is a top‑performing climber or trimmer who has demonstrated exceptional performance in lower‑level positions, showing the ability to execute climbing techniques and rigging for pruning and removal tasks with precision and safety. Proficiency in operating aerial lifts is desirable but not required.
Minimum requirements include at least three years of relevant experience, the ability to read and communicate effectively in English (bilingual Spanish/English is a plus), a valid driver’s license (commercial driver’s license strongly preferred), a high school diploma or equivalent, a solid work ethic, and the capacity to travel on short notice, work extended periods in various locations, lift over 50 lb, and work overtime when requested.

The work environment includes exposure to fumes, airborne particles, mechanical vibrations, loud noise, and varying weather conditions typical of vegetation management and construction sites.
