As a Vice President of Land Development at Taylor Morrison, you will lead the Land Development Team through engineering, entitlement, and development processes to deliver timely, developed lots for the division. You will report to the Division/Corporate Office and serve as a member of the Division Leadership Team, collaborating with peers across functional areas. This role is classified as exempt under FLSA.
Your primary focus will be to guide the overall land development lifecycle, ensuring projects align with division objectives and are delivered efficiently. You will work closely with land planners, engineers, and contractors to coordinate efforts and maintain strategic momentum. Strategic planning will involve market research and the creation of an annual land plan aligned with the division’s goals. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
You will be responsible for managing personnel functions such as interviewing, hiring, training, and evaluating staff performance. Duties include setting compensation, assigning work techniques, planning budgets, and ensuring compliance with legal and safety regulations. Regular interaction with customers, coworkers, and senior managers is required, as is the ability to operate a vehicle and work both seated and standing for extended periods. The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in business or a related field, or possesses an equivalent combination of experience, and has at least ten years of land development experience. Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills are essential, along with a proven leadership track record. Candidates should demonstrate business acumen, customer focus, and the ability to set priorities and drive results. Attention to detail, computer proficiency, and public speaking abilities are also valued.
