The Assistant Manager – Technical Department (IFM M&E) reports to the City Engineer and is responsible for overseeing all engineering and maintenance requirements of the facility, ensuring 100% uptime of critical equipment and coordinating vendor AMC services.
Key duties include taking handover from the previous shift, monitoring and maintaining all M&E equipment such as electrical systems, UPS, lifts, HVAC, fire fighting, plumbing and carpentry, establishing engineering procedures, liaising with local authorities, and ensuring legal and statutory compliance. The role also involves conducting technical audits, managing project scopes, reviewing maintenance contracts, planning critical spares, handling multiple operational portals, and delivering comprehensive reports and scorecards.
- Monitor and maintain electrical systems, UPS, lifts, HVAC, precision A/C, fire fighting, plumbing, and carpentry equipment.
- Establish and roll out engineering and operational procedures for site staff.
- Coordinate with local authorities on facility‑related issues and maintain relationships.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and statutory requirements for facility and engineering operations.
- Conduct periodic technical audits of all installations.
- Manage M&E project scope to guarantee quality deliverables within stipulated timelines.
- Review maintenance and service practices of contracts to align with manufacturers' recommendations.
- Develop and maintain a critical spares inventory based on manufacturer guidance.
- Administer the Corrigo portal for preventive maintenance (PPM) activity closures.
- Update EHS & IHS compliance details in the IDEA portal.
- Track project approvals and incident reports using the CEWA portal.
- Manage team training through the JLL “my learning” portal.
- Handle BMS work orders and updates via the Help Desk portal and group email monitoring.
- Process GRN, RGP, and NRGP entries for spares and asset movements in the security portal.
- Plan and execute scheduled and planned shutdown activities with the chief engineer.
- Perform regular inspections of logbooks, checklists, SOPs, and EOPs to improve engineering management.
- Implement energy management programs to reduce utility costs and improve sustainability.
- Prepare and submit weekly and monthly engineering scorecards, resilience reports, vendor scorecards, and consumption reports.
- Oversee handyman tasks including carpentry, painting, drywall, minor electrical and plumbing repairs, and door replacements.
- Conduct daily walkthroughs to ensure all fixtures and fittings are in good order.
- Implement LOTO and other safety procedures, ensuring compliance with fire, health, and safety standards.
- Provide CEM (Critical Equipment Management) training to onsite teams.
- Maintain up‑to‑date building drawings and documentation.
- Process vendor invoices, verify tax exemption documents, and liaise with finance for payments.
- Achieve 100% compliance with preventive maintenance plans and maintain critical equipment uptime.

Candidates should hold a BE/B.Tech/Diploma in Electrical, Electronics & Communication, or Mechanical Engineering, with 4‑5 years of experience in a critical or corporate environment. Required skills include strong communication, PC literacy, knowledge of electro‑mechanical and fire‑safety infrastructure, risk management, and the ability to work flexibly in a 24 × 7 setting.
