The Proposal Writer role creates clear, compelling, and compliant proposal content for CGS’s Federal customers, focusing on Base Operations Support contracts. Working remotely, the writer translates complex information into effective prose for RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, and Sources Sought notices. The position reports to the Proposal Manager and collaborates across capture and business development teams.
- Collaborate with Capture Managers, Business Development leaders, Solution Architects, and Subject Matter Experts to document and articulate win themes, solutions, and corporate experience aligned with proposal requirements.
- Initiate and conduct research on subject matter to inform strategy and technical development, presenting findings to the Proposal Manager.
- Conduct subject matter interviews via email, phone, or in‑person, adapting methods to assess experts’ capabilities.
- Write and edit original text, tailor boilerplate, and rewrite third‑party contributions to meet RFP requirements while ensuring a compelling, compliant narrative.
- Perform detailed compliance analysis between RFP requirements and proposal narratives, providing feedback to achieve a compliant final product.
- Copy edit for grammar, spelling, factual accuracy, clarity, and adherence to Chugach standards.
- Format documents using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Adobe InDesign, and Acrobat, delivering print‑ready final documents to the Proposal Manager.
- Prioritize tasks and coordinate with contributors to meet proposal deadlines.
- Assist the Proposal Manager with color review analysis and lead color review team changes for assigned sections.
- Research and draft proposal boilerplate independent of specific proposals.
- Perform related duties, including temporary support of operational sites.
- Provide at least two writing samples as part of the application.

Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, at least five years of writing and editing experience, and a minimum of two years drafting proposals for state or Federal clients. Experience in base operations support, construction, or IT services and the ability to provide writing samples are required, along with successful background and drug screening.
The role is performed primarily in an office environment with standard lighting and ventilation, requiring prolonged desk work and occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds. CGS provides reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities in accordance with applicable laws.

- Experience developing content for high‑value wins (8‑9 figure contracts).
