Procurement Associate

Overview

Coordinate steel procurement to meet production schedules and manage vendor relations.

Tasks

-Expedite and arrange the pick-up or delivery of purchased items while keeping in mind project schedules -Issue purchase orders for miscellaneous project purchases -Batch and issue shop drawings to fabrication plants -Process revised shop drawings -Work closely with the Procurement Specialist to purchase steel for projects from ABM (Advanced Bills of Material), field bolt lists or requisitions. -Nest steel into purchasable lengths / bundles to ensure efficient buying / material usage -Process shop paperwork related to consumption of inventory -Recap projects weekly to ensure all materials required for upcoming batches are received on time for fabrication

What You Bring

-Experience in the Steel Industry would be considered an asset -Excellent communication and interpersonal skills -Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Word & Excel -Learn to use computer programs such as JDEwards, Strumis and Bluebeam -Desire to work well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, and customer-focused environment -Purchasing / supply chain and logistics experience or relevant post-secondary education -Exceptional time management and organizational skills
