Lead Operator

Lead operator overseeing stockyard operations, safety and team management.
Ensure that you and your team provide a helpful and efficient service to our haulage partners, customers and field sales
Orchestrating the team structure ensuring that each team/member have an equal share of responsibilities
Encourage and develop a culture of continuous improvement within the team and contribute to improvements across the wider business.
Maintain an excellent standard of housekeeping in accordance with our PIP targets, highlighting any concerns using the quality and hazard reporting process
Work closely with distribution teams to facilitate the timely picking, packing and wrapping of all products prior to collection
Manage holiday requests of the Stockyard team, ensuring relevant cover is available, sickness, personal development reviews, training and disciplinaries
Ensure that the Stockyard team have been fully trained to operate machinery (including FLTs and heat shrink guns) whilst maintaining training records
Ensure that all site safety rules are understood and adhered to by all who are operating within the stockyard (employees, haulage partners and customers)

Previous experience of managing and leading a team
Current / valid RTITB, ITSSAR, NPORS or CPCS forklift truck license with recent driving experience within the last six months
An understanding of QA standards and the importance of consistent high quality in manufacturing
Good IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Experience of working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Excellent communication skills verbal and written
Previous experience working in a Stockyard
