The Maintenance Technician performs a variety of upkeep tasks for residential units, including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, appliance repair, and cleaning of units and common areas. The role emphasizes timely, professional service to residents while ensuring properties are ready for new occupancy.
The position requires frequent standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, twisting, climbing stairs and ladders, as well as stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, generally with loads up to 30 lb. Occasionally the employee may lift or move items over 30 lb or operate vehicles and computers.
Applicants need at least one year of maintenance experience or related work, a high school diploma, and training in carpentry, light plumbing and electrical work, painting, refurbishing, cleaning, or air‑conditioning. A valid driver’s license, good driving record, and any property‑specific certifications are required; trade school or military training is a plus.
The job involves exposure to dust, fumes, solvents, variable lighting, and noise, and may require evenings, weekends, holidays, and on‑call emergency shifts.
