Principal / Associate Consultant (m/f/d) – Energy Strategy & Planning

Description

• Project Delivery- Manage large, complex projects, including execution plans, programming, budgets, and resource plans. Promote digital transformation and share lessons learned post-project.
• Sales and Business Development- Coordinate bids, drive efficient responses and fee planning, lead sales activities in strategic areas, network with clients to inform strategies, and represent the team at key events and conferences.
• Team Management and Development- Support junior team members' wellbeing and career progression, lead team management solutions independently, coordinate projects, bids, sales activities, and team resourcing to balance workloads.
• This role offers the opportunity to shape Ramboll’s UK energy systems advisory offer and contribute to high-impact projects across the energy transition.
• Communication- Design and facilitate productive workshops, confidently present work, and clearly communicate with clients, responding effectively to questions.

Requirements

• Proven expertise in energy system planning, including integrated systems, flexibility, storage, electrification, commercial models, and policy.
• Experience supporting team development and management, including mentoring junior colleagues and coordinating team activities.
• Confident communicator, able to present work to clients, facilitate stakeholder engagement, and design high-quality client outputs (reports, presentations, digital communication).
• Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver complex projects, including project planning, budgeting, and resource management, with minimal support.
• (Desirable) Strong technical skills in energy systems modelling, techno-economic analysis, and optimisation, with experience applying digital tools such as GIS/mapping and data analytics.
• Technical Advisory Skills- Apply knowledge to energy system planning, integrated solutions, and policy. Facilitate stakeholder engagement with authorities and industry partners.
