The CNC Break Press Operator on the second shift is responsible for setting up and operating press brake equipment to form metal parts according to job packets, bills of material, process sheets, and engineering drawings. Core duties include planning operation sequences, calculating angles and bend thicknesses, selecting appropriate dies and fixtures, and ensuring the first piece meets specifications through precise measurements.
Throughout the production run the operator monitors gauge readings, adjusts settings as needed, changes tooling for different parts, manually feeds material, and performs quality checks and documentation to maintain compliance with schedules. Additional responsibilities involve keeping the work area clean and safe, managing inventory of materials, and supporting workflow by moving completed parts to subsequent stations.
The role requires the use of computer systems, hand and power tools, protractors, cranes, pallet jacks, break presses, punches, dies, and protective devices. Required personal protective equipment includes ANSI‑approved safety glasses, cut‑resistant gloves, and steel‑toe footwear, while physical demands involve frequent pushing of up to 120 lb, lifting of up to 40 lb, and regular standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
