Provides pre-sales technical project development support to the Project Managers in applications and cost estimating input as necessary.
Provides the necessary leadership role for the field team when executing mid-sized projects requiring multiple team members.
Maintains a lead role in the field coordination of installing subcontractors when a Project Engineer is not assigned to the project.
Utilizes computer hardware and software to support and/or execute the pre-functional testing of the system software code in relationship to the design sequence of operations.
Provides pre-sales support to the Project Management/Sales team as required.
Communicates effectively with other team members regarding project issues, obstacles, and information needs.
Supports the troubleshooting of local and wide area network issues as they arise.
Develops, trains and coaches junior level Design Engineers and Systems Software Engineers on engineering concepts, applications, theories and standards.
Supports the Technical Services Manager in additional internal administrative activities as necessary.
Responsible for practicing safe work habits and participates in office safety program requirements and that of any specific safety requirements of all assigned projects.
Responsible for attending required field project coordination meetings and commissioning meetings as required by the assigned projects.
The employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear.
Schedules and conducts project turnover meetings with the Project Manager, to gather all information needed to perform design engineering and graphic solutions.
Responsible for coaching, mentoring and development of junior level Systems Software Engineers.
Participates and leads all end user/customer system training requirements on assigned projects.
Coordinates with project staff to ensure accurate and timely recording of project costs including time sheets, daily reports, etc.
Attends and successfully completes the OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 safety training classes.
Assists Operations Manager, Project Managers and Field Supervisors with the allocation of engineering resources for scheduling and resource loading as needed for projects and cost control.
Participates and supports the final systems functional testing relative to standard, 3 rd party, LEED and Title 24 testing as required.
Performs as a lead Systems Software Engineer in the development of large and complex control systems databases & programs.
Assists Design Engineers with the validation of sequence of operations development against design build and/or contract requirements.
Fully responsible for the execution of the initial systems point-to-point commissioning activities
Responsible for the systematic turnover of the project from the construction phase to the Service team on all assigned projects.
Manages field time and budgets relative to the field work of assigned projects.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
Proactively evaluates potential problems on project designs and estimates and initiates actions plans with the associated Project Manager to limit negative outcomes and exposure.
