The Payroll Tax Analyst oversees the administration of all payroll tax activities for the company and its subsidiaries, including tax filings, payments, and employee tax setup. This role supports the preparation and delivery of W-2 forms for roughly 10,000 U.S. and Puerto Rico associates and retirees, ensuring adherence to all applicable local, state, federal, and foreign tax laws.
Core responsibilities include validating payroll tax returns, maintaining compliance with statutory withholding regulations, researching complex tax scenarios, and driving process improvements through root-cause analysis. The analyst also supports quarter- and year-end processing, manages wage adjustments, maintains Oracle tax tables, and provides reporting for audits, mergers, and acquisitions.
Success in this position requires strong teamwork, problem-solving, and analytical abilities, as well as the capacity to coordinate multiple work streams toward common deliverables. Applicants should hold at least an associate degree in accounting or business, with a preference for a bachelor’s degree, and possess a minimum of one year of functional payroll tax experience. Experience with HCM/payroll systems—particularly Oracle HCM/Payroll and ADP Smart Compliance—and a solid grasp of payroll tax regulations are essential, alongside strong analytical, communication, and detail-orientation skills.
