The role reports to the P&C General Manager for Transport ANZ and works closely with the operational General Manager, National Operations Manager, and Project Directors/Branch Managers. As a member of the Transport NZ senior leadership team, you will collaborate with finance, SHEQ, business development, bids, and commercial managers. Innovation and autonomy are encouraged, with support from the P&C GM as needed, while balancing HR best practice with Ventia’s enterprise goals and the commercial impact of decisions. You will also drive enterprise‑wide initiatives, focusing on talent through succession planning, development plans, internal mobility, and traineeship/apprenticeship programmes.
This position is ideal for an experienced Human Resources Business Partner or Senior People and Culture Advisor who advises senior leaders. Strong relationship‑building skills are essential for coaching and mentoring managers on strategic P&C operations, and experience in planning, capability, and leadership development will help you implement the people strategy across Transport. You will act in various capacities—leader, doer, strategist, investigator, presenter, mentor, or consultant—depending on the situation. While infrastructure industry experience is helpful, similar experience in construction, industrial, or other complex, geographically dispersed field‑based environments is also valuable.
