The Chemist I works under general supervision to perform accurate formulation and analytical testing according to internal LATICRETE, ANSI, and ASTM procedures. The role develops and conducts complex chemical studies on organic and inorganic formulations, using independent judgment while reporting and analyzing data.
Key responsibilities are divided among design and validation (≈75 % of time), product support (≈15 %), and data analysis/documentation (≈10 %). Design work involves conducting experiments to solve increasingly complex problems, performing competitive testing, maintaining a clean laboratory, and ensuring instrument calibration and safety compliance.
Product support includes evaluating field complaints, assisting operations with product inconsistencies, communicating results across R&D and cross‑functional teams, organizing field trials, and guiding the scale‑up of new products by writing batching formulas and establishing quality‑control parameters.
Data analysis duties require documenting all work using approved methods, processing and interpreting results independently, presenting findings in department meetings and technical presentations, and compiling formal end‑of‑project reports.
