In this position you will design and enhance crisis management frameworks, conduct risk assessments, scenario analyses, and tabletop exercises, and improve the integration of Emergency Response Plans into overall crisis planning. You will assist clients in establishing Crisis Management Teams and Emergency Operations Center processes, advise on incident classification and escalation protocols, and develop business impact analyses, continuity strategies, and recovery plans aligned with industry standards. The role also includes providing clear documentation, training, after‑action reporting, and subject‑matter expertise during real‑world incidents while staying current on emerging threats.
ERM is seeking an experienced Crisis and Emergency Response Manager to work remotely from Walnut Creek, CA. This part‑time role is limited to 15 hours per week for an initial three‑week period, with the possibility of extension. The manager will support clients in strengthening their crisis management, emergency response, and business continuity capabilities.
The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and brings at least seven years of experience in crisis management, emergency response, business continuity, or enterprise risk management. Deep familiarity with standards such as ISO 22301, NFPA 1600, NIST, and the Incident Command System is required, as well as a proven ability to lead high‑pressure discussions and translate technical risk concepts into business‑focused recommendations. Strong facilitation, training, and executive‑level presentation skills are essential.
Compensation is hourly, ranging from $57.06 to $73.31, and the position is non‑exempt and limited‑term. Eligible employees who work 20 hours or more per week receive a benefits package that includes paid time off, medical, dental, vision, 401(k) retirement plans, and life and disability insurance; fixed‑term staff receive a limited benefits package, while casual employees are not eligible for benefits.
