Description

The Mechanical Project Engineer supports the Architecture and Engineering business unit by designing and managing mechanical engineering projects from conception through completion. The role involves HVAC, plumbing/piping, refrigeration, fire protection, and fuel systems, and requires coordination with site/civil engineers, electrical engineers, structural engineers, architects, and construction project managers. The engineer is responsible for producing mechanical construction documents while adhering to client and code requirements and accommodating site adjustments.

You will collaborate with a team of design engineers, professional engineers, and project managers throughout the project lifecycle.

• Conduct site visit investigations and generate reports/recommendations.
• Produce design plans, calculations and reports with limited direction.
• Coordinate with subconsultants, support client interaction, manage phase and task budgets, and schedule project phases/tasks.
• Schedule and lead production staff, coordinate addendums, RFIs, and change orders.
• Assist in coordinating multi‑disciplined team during design development and contract document phases.

This position is based out of our Bentonville, Arkansas office, with an expectation to be in the office at least one day per week; remote candidates within Arkansas are also considered, with occasional travel to Bentonville a few times per month.

• 8+ years experience in general building mechanical design, preferably commercial (retail/restaurants).
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office.
