Defines and executes programs and projects to ensure network infrastructure is correctly life cycled (hardware and software), patched, and maintained. Leads all the technical aspects related the following areas within IT: datacenter network, enterprise corporate connectivity, cloud network technologies, wireless LAN infrastructure, DNS, SDN, and SD-WAN technologies
Defines Obsolescence guidelines & standards, including obsolescence process and exception procedures. Manages risk acceptance register/tracker and monitors obsolescence risk mitigation.
Supervises and evaluates technical security capabilities for all technical components managed by the Network engineering team. Security from the design.
Following AVANGRID Standards, defines technological direction of the team. Point of escalation for technical items.
Manages a technically strong team, including task prioritization, performance monitoring, task assignment, task status reporting, project work, resources capabilities. Retains and develops staff skills through mentoring and guided training.
Minimum of two years as a Technology Manager, including managerial experience in strategic project execution, strategic planning, risk management, and change management while engaging and influencing various stakeholders at all levels across the company.
Strong history of managing complex efforts with demanding customers.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and coordinate multiple work activities and meet target deadline
Ability to communicate with and influence technical and non- technical customers, colleagues, and vendors.
Master’s Degree.
Demonstrated history managing engineering teams covering some of the following technologies: routing, switching, enterprise wireless, telecommunications, VoIP, SIP, enterprise Cisco voice infrastructure, etc.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Security systems or a related field and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Proven experience in strategic project execution, strategic planning, risk management, and change management while engaging and influencing various stakeholders at all levels across the company.
Relevant experience includes IT or Technology on any capability.
Travel within the US and to Europe may be required, as needed.
Ability to share knowledge and mentor and manage less experienced team members
Strong commitment to personnel safety and IT security.
