Work with the preconstruction lead and operations to help develop logistics and project approach to ensure the estimate is informed and complete.
Stay abreast of trends and developments, such as new equipment, methods and procedures that are developing in the industry.
Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for healthcare projects during conceptual, schematic, and design development phases.
Analyze drawings, specifications, and other project documents to develop accurate scopes of work.
Conduct site investigation prior to forming a plan of operations to identify any concerns, or conditions present that could impact the project risk profile
Provide leadership and strategy in subcontractor and vendor selection process
Assist in the preparation of bid packages, proposals, and presentations.
Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
Consult with owners on various problems discovered during bid preparation, design, rates, schedules, etc.
Prepare special engineering studies or reports required by certain bid items or conditions.
Reviews all bid and contract documents and coordinate home office legal department reviews
Participate in value engineering and constructability reviews.
Support the development of budgets, GMPs, and cost models under the guidance of Estimating Managers
Assist in the development of the preconstruction plan, staffing and schedule.
Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing to support bid and estimate development.
Reviewing sub and vendor proposals to ensure they align with assumptions, project documents and Owner requirements ensuring accurate and complete cost estimates.
Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.
Maintain historical cost data and stay current on market trends and pricing.

3+ years' related preconstruction or estimating experience, preferably with exposure to healthcare construction.
Familiarity with healthcare building systems, codes, and compliance requirements.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Regular, reliable attendance
Exposure to BIM/VDC tools and processes
Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.
Work productively and meet deadlines timely
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Become proficient in Kiewit’s proprietary estimating program, “InEight Estimate”.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products (e.g. Excel, Work, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or construction related fields preferred.
LEED knowledge or certification.
Exceptionally strong attention to detail, communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience with CMAR, Design-Build, or IPD delivery methods preferred but not required.
