The ITS/Transportation Technology Manager will lead the Intelligent Transportation Systems practice in Denver, Colorado, and support opportunities in Montana, Wyoming, and Idaho. Reporting as the state technical practice leader, the role combines business development, project delivery, and team leadership.
In this position you will build and mentor a high‑performing ITS team, cultivate client relationships, and expand the firm’s presence in the Greater West region. You will oversee complex project assignments, serve in roles such as capture manager or technical lead, and ensure the production of technical deliverables including plans, specifications, and reports.
- Lead and manage the ITS/Transportation Technology group across Colorado, Montana, Wyoming, and Idaho.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop a resilient team to sustain the ITS business.
- Build and maintain client relationships and coordinate project pursuit strategies.
- Represent AECOM in professional organizations and expand local industry presence.
- Direct and coordinate large, complex engineering assignments and technical deliverables.
- Serve as capture manager, project manager, technical leader, expert advisor, or quality control on ITS projects.
- Support business growth in the Greater West region as a subject‑matter expert.
- Drive strategic business development, industry engagement, and targeted recruiting.
- Provide technical mentorship and promote excellence among peers and staff.
- Balance work assignments across markets to support work‑life balance.

The ideal candidate holds a BA/BS with at least ten years of relevant experience, including two years of leadership, and is a U.S. citizen. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in engineering, a Colorado Professional Engineer license, fifteen-plus years of experience, and a strong reputation in transportation technology.
- BA/BS and minimum 10 years experience (including 2 years leadership); U.S. citizenship required.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s in engineering, 15+ years experience, 5+ years leadership, Colorado PE license.
- Proven experience managing transportation professionals and a strong reputation in transportation technology.
- Experience with public‑sector ITS clients, connected/automated vehicle systems, systems engineering, and TSMO.
- Skilled in proposal development, business development, and client communication.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, and deadlines with professionalism.
